Meet the Team

We have been living and loving Baja California for some time, after many years of travelling in Latin America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, teaching diving and sailing and generally exploring (a bit more about each of us below).

Baja California held an incredible allure for us. It’s full of opportunities find yourself off the beaten trail, and is as beautiful as when Jacques Cousteau first travelled here and dubbed the Sea of Cortez “the aquarium of the world”. We’ve met many people here who would love to get to know Baja outside the main tourist areas and who are looking for something different from the standard mass-market tour offering.

This is why we set up Adventures in Baja ‑ to share with you our passion for this special place, taking you to the nooks and crannies as well the vast open spaces, showing you Baja’s spectacular marine life and endless deserts that suddenly bloom into a sea of green, yellow and red when there’s just a little bit of rain, doing all of this in small groups with itineraries tailored to what you want to see and do – with a bit of secret spice from us thrown in – after all, that’s why we’re here!

Let us arrange your trips for you and guide you – we’ll make your holiday unforgettable!

We have some suggested itineraries on the site and are constantly exploring so we can add to our menu of activities. Alternatively, we’ll be delighted to develop a custom programme with and for you. We run some trips on our own, while for others we work with carefully selected partners – we’ve worked with many companies here, so we make sure you get only the best, and we’re with you all the way. We’re both comfortable in English and Spanish so we’ll make sure you won’t miss out on a thing. And we want you to come back and see more. If you choose to come with us again – fabulous, thank you! – and if you feel inspired to go off on your own then please let us know what you’re up to and we’d love to share tips and stories.

Last and certainly not least – we care passionately about the natural world. Helping visitors understand the importance and fragility of the environment in Baja is a core part of what we do. We actively work with local help groups for example Zero Waste Los Cabos, supporting dive and land clean ups, also working with local schools to educate and inform children on the effect of plastic pollution on our oceans.

Nothing beats introducing people to something new, seeing the excitement and wonder in their eyes, the incessant chattering afterwards and the smiles that make your cheeks ache…

After growing up with the chilly waters of the English Channel, I decided that I’m really more of a warm-water girl and began diving on a live-aboard boat on the Great Barrier Reef in the early 2000’s, where I developed a love and respect for the delicate ecosystems under the ocean. I later taught diving in Thailand and Indonesia and am Adventures in Baja’s lead scuba Instructor, offering various specialties in addition to training up to PADI Divemaster level. I’m a huge fan of blue-water diving and have been lucky enough to dive with whalesharks, hammerheads, sunfish and manta rays in the Galapagos, Malpelo and Socorro. I’m also qualified to teach sailing in the US and UK and have spent various periods racing off-shore, climbing around the world and training horses in New Zealand and Argentina.

After many years of juggling outdoor stuff with a professional career in the pharmaceuticals industry, I sailed away from the UK in 2012 and crossed the Atlantic to the Caribbean – the start of a long journey that eventually brought me here to beautiful Baja.
